Senior Health Insurance Program
Our Senior Health Insurance
Program trains volunteer citizen
advocates to offer information and individual counseling for Medicare and health insurance
questions. Trained volunteers assist seniors in selecting health insurance coverage, help
seniors fill out complicated forms, and intercede on their behalf when necessary.

Protecting your personal information is the best defense in the fight against
healthcare fraud & abuse. Every day, consumers get ripped off by scam
artists. Medicare & Medicaid lose billions of dollars every year.
You can make a difference.
 | Treat your Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security numbers like a credit
card number. NEVER give these numbers to a stranger. |
 | Remember, Medicare does not call or visit to sell you anything. |
 | Don't carry your Medicare or Medicaid card unless you will need
it. Only take it to doctor's appointments or visits to the hospital or
clinic or trips to the pharmacy. |
 | Record doctor's visits, tests and procedures in your personal health
care journal or calendar. |
 | Save Medicare Summary Notices & Part D Explanation of Benefits.
Shred documents when they are no longer needed. |
 | Always review your Medicare Summary Notice and Part D Explanation of
Benefits for mistakes. |
 | Compare your information to your health care journal or calendar. |
 | Look for these on your bills like:
1. Charges for something you did not get.
2. Billing for the same thing twice.
3. Services that were not ordered by your doctor. |
