_ Job Training
_ Are you 55 years old or older? Have you been out of the job market and need to sharpen
your existing skills or would like to acquire new skills? Would you enjoy the opportunity to help your community
while you gain experience and new skills?
The Senior AIDES Program offers job training to residents, 55 years of age or older and on a limited income. In return, the enrollees are subsidized to perform 20 hours of community service per week in either a government or community service agency. Participants learn skills to allow them to join the workforce in an unsubsidized job.
Senior Aides work in a variety of community agencies and programs, all of which are governmental or non-profit agencies. There are many different host agencies available to help you sharpen your work skills while you seek unsubsidized employment. Types of host agencies include Adult Education Centers, Food Banks, Day Cares, Legal Aid Societies, Literacy Councils, Police Departments and United Way Agencies, to name a few.
We are a Workforce Investment Act Partner providing increased services to older workers.
